How does the A&E/The History Channel Affiliate Program work?
The Affiliate Program makes it easy for you to get credit for sales that originate from your site. You place special traceable hyperlinks on your site that link to one of our Web sites and/or our online store, ShopAETV.com. The links become available to you after you join our Affiliate Program.

How is the A&E/The History Channel Affiliate Program different from other affiliate programs?
We offer more original programming for sale online to consumers than any other cable television network in the U.S. Our online stores are the only sites to get all of our available products on video and DVD, as well as related gifts and collectibles. By offering products from our well-known brands, you enhance and add value to your site’s visitors.

Is the A&E/The History Channel Affiliate Program exclusive?
This is not an exclusive program.

What does it cost me to join?
It is absolutely FREE!

How do I join and get started?
First select the affiliate solution service provider that you would like to or may be already using.

After filling out the application and the approval process, you will receive access to an online password protected reporting system that will provide you with access to all our banners, links, as well as reporting results of sales that resulted from our links on your Web site.

2. Web Site Eligibility Can anyone become an affiliate of our Affiliate Program?
Anyone may submit an application. It may take us a few days to send your acceptance notification. However, we have the right to refuse any Web site from the program.

What are your criteria for accepting or rejecting an application?
We encourage anyone with a Web site to apply. We review all Web sites and reject any sites that project racism, sexism or any other objectionable content.

Can I join if I live outside the U.S.?
Yes, however, we can only ship products within the United States and Canada. Also, we will only pay our affiliates in U.S. dollars.

Can I join if my site is not for profit?
Yes, you can earn money for your organization or cause.

Can I join if my site is not launched yet?
No, you can only apply if you have an existing Web site.

3. Commission Structure and Payment What is the commission structure for your program?
The A&E/The History Channel Affiliate Program pays a generous commission of 11% on all products. We encourage you to check out other affiliate programs with similar products. Most other programs pay lower commission.

How often will I get paid?
As our affiliate, you will get a bi-monthly check if your balance if $50.00 or more through Performics.

How can I check my earnings?
Our affiliate solution partner, Performics, offers our affiliates password protected web pages to track sales, referral fees, impressions and click-through figures. These reports are updated daily so you can see how much money you're making whenever you want.

Can you track my different Web sites separately?
Yes, our affiliates can have different sites tracked under the same affiliate account.

Do I get commission from all of my sales?
Yes, you get commission from any sales that generate from your Web site.

What products qualify for a commission?
All of our products in our stores qualify for commission to our affiliates. However, we do not offer commission for subscriptions to Biography« Magazine.

Is there a cap on my potential commission?
We do not place a cap on any commission to our affiliates.

Will I get commission if visitors purchase a gift certificate on my site?
Yes, gift certificates are available for commission. However, you will not get another commission when a gift certificate is redeemed.

Do I earn commission on my own purchases?
Yes, we allow ALL sales originating from your Web site to be available for commission.

What happens with product returns?
We handle crediting our affiliates' accounts for any returns to our store. We take great pride on our extremely low return rate of our products.

4. Setting Up and Maintaining Your Online Store Where can an affiliate link to your sites and/or online store, ShopAETV.com?
You can link to our home pages, storefront, boutiques or individual items in our online store, ShopAETV.com or ShopHistoryChannel.com.

All links become available to you once joining our Affiliate Program.

Do you offer a search box that I can place on my site?
We offer a branded search boxes for your use.

Where can I find banners, logos and other graphic materials to use on my site? Can they be altered?
All links can be found under our A&E/HistoryChannel Affiliate Program name in the affiliate solution provider system, Performics.

Can I use individual product images on my site?
Yes, we offer more than 5,000 A&E and The History Channel videos, DVDs, CDs, books, gifts and other collectibles for you to offer your site's visitors.

Should I use prices on my site?
We do not recommend that prices be placed on our affiliates' Web sites. We often offer sales and specials on our products that would not be reflected to your visitors.

Will you promote my site for me?
Unfortunately, we do not promote affiliate sites within our Web sites. However, we do feature an "Affiliate of the Month" in both the affiliate section of our sites and in our monthly Affiliate newsletter.

Should I mention that my site is part of the A&E/The History Channel Affiliate Program?
Yes, we offer "In Association with" logos for use on affiliate sites.
